Departure from the place of origin. We cross the Marapa river coming from the north or the Hu acra river from the south, entering the La Cocha department.

We will take the provincial route N ° 334, where after traveling 5 kms. We will arrive at the town of San Ignacio, where the Jesuit Chapel is located, declared a National Historical Monument. This is undoubtedly a place full of history and the center of a conglomerate of many large rooms that belonged to the Jesuits around the 18th century, where among other things there was a factory of carts, tiles, bricks, forming an important social and of production. It was the first place in Tucumán where sugar was processed, today the main source of income for this northern province.
Then we continue on our way to the Los Pizarro dam, the main water mirror in La Cocha.
Then we continue our course to the San Ignacio dam, with its river, observing fields, hills and vegetation typical of the southern yungas. We stop on the banks of the San Ignacio river or Guaxama as the pre-Hispanic cultures called it, to continue a walk through different landscapes, from the foothills of Tucumán and then, crossing the rocky river, and after about 40 minutes / 1 hour of walking, ending up arriving at the majestic waterfall, hidden in a canyon that gives the sun a few hours a day, this being the highest waterfall of which there is a record so far in the entire province of Tucumán.
We will have a picnic in the area, taking care not to leave any residue in it. After a time of rest and interpretation of this wonderful landscape, we will return to the San Ignacio River, to have a picnic in its vicinity, or visit a nursery or return to La Cocha and take a walk through the shopping center of La Terminal or have a snack before returning to your place of origin.

OPTIONAL: SECOND AND THIRD WATERFALL EXTENSION - TRIP CS011 / 12 - CODE CSCIP3C
As an optional extension, after the picnic, while the rest of the people remain in the first waterfall, we will ascend towards the second waterfall, between 35 and 50 minutes of quite steep ascent, depending on the physical condition of the visitor, reaching a waterfall with the appearance of a curtain that forms a pool of crystalline water.
After 5 more minutes of ascent, we reached the third waterfall, the latter shaped like a slide, also with a "pot" of water, only suitable for people in good physical condition. After enjoying these natural wonders, we will descend again towards the first waterfall where we will meet again with the passengers who have decided to stay in the first waterfall, we will return to the San Ignacio River, to have a picnic in its vicinity, or visit a nursery or return to La Cocha and take a walk through the Terminal's shopping center or have a snack before returning to your place of origin.
