The toponym "Cocha" comes from the Quechua word "kkocha", a language of the ancient Inca empire, which means "lagoon". So they called this place, the "lagoon" where formerly there was a natural water mirror that drained towards the source.

Scientifically it is proven by excavations that the remains of snails and aquatic flora were found in these latitudes. An old legend tells that it was "the tears of a woman that later dried up" that formed the old lagoon of "La Cocha", in what is now our place.

The safari is an expedition or trip that takes place in certain areas of Africa. According to the Royal Spanish Academy, the safari is carried out for big game hunting or as a photographic excursion in "some regions of Africa" or "in other territories", as it is in our case.

The word safari means "journey" in  Swahili , the  lingua franca  from  Africa  central-eastern. Its root is the voice  Arab  safar (سفر) of equivalent meaning, substantiated with the ending in i as is characteristic of that language (eg bank  bank in English = banki). It has been assimilated by all adjacent languages, and its meaning commonly spread throughout much of the world.

We have chosen as an icon of our expeditions the commonly called «overa weasel, or also known as opossum.  The overa weasel is one of the descendants of a very old family of South American marsupials; the species has survived numerous changes that have occurred on the continent over millions of years, without changing evolutionarily much, so it could be considered a “living fossil”. Many times mistakenly confused with rodents and abused by humans, it is the only American marsupial, ((it has a bag where it carries its young like koala kangaroos), it is not found anywhere else in the world, and it plays a fundamental role in the ecological chain, freeing humans from poisonous snakes, scorpions and other insects.
